Obituary for Norma Jean Russell
Norma Jean Russell of Kimball MI, formerly from Rochester, passed away peacefully into Jesus arms with Jerry at her side February 7, 2019 at the age of 84.
Norma was born December 19, 1934 in Royal Oak, MI to the late William and Helen Elkins. She married Jerry Russell on June 15, 1957 at the First Baptist Church of Royal Oak and together they enjoyed over 60 years of love throughout their marriage. Together Norma and Jerry enjoyed traveling including trips to Hawaii and Alaska and of course boating with friends and family. They shared a passion for fishing and Norma always seemed to catch the biggest fish every time. Norma was an award winning china painter and creative artist in many mediums including oil and watercolor painting and wood carving. She enjoyed her family and friends and had a bright smile and twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes that could light up the room. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Norma was the Loving Wife of Jerry Russell, Devoted Mother of Jeff (Kim) Russell and Dave (Therese) Russell. Cherished Grandmother of Andrew, and Alex Russell, Libby (Nathan) Feist, Shannon, Nikki, and Mary Russell, also Great Grandmother of Aurelia Feist. She is survived by her brother Robert Elkins and many loved Nieces, and Nephews, who felt she was the kindest soul. She is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Helen Elkins, and brother James Elkins.
Her Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 28 2019, at Marysville United Methodist Church, 1234 New Jersey Ave., Marysville, MI. Visitation for family and friends at the church from 2-4 pm, with a Memorial Service at 4 pm followed by a light meal and fellowship.
