Carbin, Thomas John, Age 59 of Bloomfield Hills passed away August 8, 2012. Survived by his wife of 25 years, Alice, and his cherished daughter Katie. Son of George and Kay Carbin of St. Louis, Missouri; brother to Paul (Kim) Carbin of Godfrey, Illinois; Jim (Lizz) Carbin of San Jose California; and Mary Anne Washburn of Crestwood, Missouri. Godson of Julie Roughneen and the late Thomas Carbin; godfather to nephews Evan Washburn, Mark Bowers, and Andrew Gretkierewicz. Leaves behind many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. Thomas graduated from University of Michigan with a Masters Degree in Public Administration and worked as a Human Resources professional. Tom enjoyed being with friends and family, and playing cards with his poker buddies. He will be greatly missed by many. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 12, 2012, 3-7 p.m. at the Modetz Funeral Home, 100 E. Silverbell Rd., Orion. Funeral Mass Monday, 10 a.m. with an instate time of 9:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 3400 S. Adams Rd., Auburn Hills. Interment Ottawa Park Cemetery. Suggested memorials to Mercy Hospice.
