BEDFORD, DORWOOD E., Sr. “Ernie” of Waterford; August 1, 2012; age 84; Loving husband of the late Patricia Bedford, who preceded him in death on June 17, 2010; Beloved father of Alex Babb, Dorwood “Ernie” Bedford, Jr. (Diane), Robin Bedford, Russell Bedford (Kristen) and Patrick Bedford (Trish). Dear brother of Mary McVetey (Allen). Also cherished by 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Mr. Bedford was retired from Citizen’s Insurance and was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge, was past President of the American Society of Safety Engineers and was a member of the Third Marine Division Association. The family will receive friends Sunday, August 5, 2012, 1 to 3 p.m. at the Riverside Chapel, Simpson-Modetz Funeral Home, 5630 Pontiac Lake Road, Waterford. The funeral service will follow at 3:30 p.m. at St. Luke’s Memorial Chapel at Canterbury on the Lake, 5601 Hatchery Road, Waterford. Interment Ottawa Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Canterbury on the Lake or to Mercy Hospice Care.
